Kaffarat al-Majlis — The Dua That Seals a Gathering

Whoever sits in a gathering with much idle talk and says this dua before standing is forgiven whatever took place in that gathering (Tirmidhi 3433). It is also a beautiful seal for study circles, meetings, and conversations.

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ

SubhanakalLahumma wa bihamdika, ashhadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.

When to Recite It

Say it when rising from any gathering or conversation — including phone calls and online meetings — and at the end of a dhikr session to seal it.
