Asking Allah for Pardon and Well-being (Al-'Afw wal-'Afiyah)

Asking Allah for Pardon and Well-being (Al-'Afw wal-'Afiyah)

When al-Abbas asked the Prophet ﷺ for a dua to hold onto, he answered: "Ask Allah for al-'afiyah" — comprehensive well-being of faith, body, family, and wealth. The Prophet ﷺ himself never omitted these words morning and evening (Abu Dawud 5074).
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah
O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the next.

Virtue and Source

The Prophet ﷺ never omitted these words morning and evening — Abu Dawud 5074, Ibn Majah 3871

When to Recite It

Include it in your morning and evening adhkar. Scholars said no dua gathers the good of both worlds more comprehensively than asking for pardon and 'afiyah.
Count this dhikr daily in Dhikr Garden — every recitation waters a tree in your garden.
